On the 1st October, we will be launching Stoptober in Nottinghamshire County and our team of stop smoking advisors will be working across the Nottinghamshire to encourage locals to join the 28 day challenge to quit smoking.
We are hosting events throughout the month of October reaching out to smokers to give up the habit for good. Stop smoking advisors will be on hand to offer advice and free CO monitoring from events and clinics. We offer a free tailor-made programme of support from specialist stop smoking advisors to help smokers to quit.
We will be at the following locations throughout Stoptober:
All our local stop smoking sessions
Sherwood Forest Hospital – Kings Mill
Asda, Newark – 24th October 10am until 12 noon
Well Pharmacy, Ollerton – 2nd October 10am – 12 noon
Superdrug Pharmacy, Mansfield – 9th October 10am – 12 noon
Various Antenatal Sessions throughout Nottinghamshire
The Stoptober campaign is a government initiative to reduce smoking in the UK and was launched in 2012. Current research shows that people who stop smoking during this time are 5 times more likely to remain smoke free. This is the perfect opportunity for anyone wanting to quit to take up support available to them as quitting is easier with the right support.
For free support to quit smoking contact a stop smoking advisor on 0800 246 5343 or text QUIT to 66777. To find out more about what Smokefreelife Nottinghamshire can offer you, including details of your local clinics, visit www.smokefreelifenottinghamshire.co.uk
